So, last night was eventful. At one point, we were at a bar doing shots and this guy walked by who looked familiar, and said "Hey," so I said "Hey." A friend was like do you guys know each other, and I was like, nope, never met. Introduced ourselves, that was that.

A little later, we're sitting outside smoking and he comes over and sits down with us and starts chatting, I'm having a good time, well liquored up . . . I figure out that he looks familiar because he reminds me of an old roommate, chatting, and then he asks for my number!

I was like, "Uhh . . . I'm with her," pointing to my date. He was totally graceful about it, so we kept on talking, and the dude is the keyboard player for My Education! I love those guys. Do any of you Obnish like those guys? So I totally had a conversation with a bandmember from a band I like who wanted to pick me up . . . only it was a dude. Oh well, I'm still gonna go see them next weekend.

Yeah, I was totally flattered . . . and they're a fucking killer band, too!

No plans at all, and no real immediate prospects. There are some very beautiful single grad students, but I will be around them for the next half-decade, and will probably know a lot of them throughout my career, so that's a risky pool. I guess I just need to get out to shows, hit some awesome coffeeshops, and take it easy. What comes will come, and I sure have enjoyed being able to share my bed again. I sure do sleep better with someone next to me. I have a black belt in spooning.

On the other hand, a dude totally did show it to my friend last night - he was trying to do an "I'll show you mine, etc" thing, and she just looked and laughed and didn't return the favor. I can't believe that a guy would just do that in the middle of a bar.

I'm totally comfortable with my spooning prowess. Besides, you get to hold onto bumpy bits sometimes while spooning girls, and that's nice too.
