I had a couple of friends go to SE Asia after graduation. They had an amazing time, but it was sans parents. Have a great time and watch for pickpockets and the Ol' Dutch Roundabout.

I think you just missed, then.

Or, at least, I could have sworn that reciprocity applied to Iowans at U-Dub, and 'Sconsinites at UI, thru the mid-nineties... Maybe budget tightening toward the end of the willenium put the kibosh on that portion, though?

checking in from luang prabang, a tiny little village in northern laos. lots of european and australian tourists, kick ass food, and a fun little night market wherein i plan to spend lots of money (which means here, about $20). yesterday we went on a ridiculous five-hour hike through the mountains, which ended with a plunge into a freezing cold and huge waterfall. so far: have managed to avoid stepping on any landmines, don't think i have bird flu or malaria, and haven't gotten a good night's sleep thanks to the rooster that lives in the house next door to our hostel. hope everything is well in obnerville.

If you run into Daniel Craig and Angelina Jolie on your travels, look out for machetes and grenades.
