For the three people or so who may care...

http://www.4ad.com/news/new-album-the-dr/

New album is completed with a May release. I tried pushing him down your throat with one of my old OOP YSI's last year. Hopefully, some of you dug him. This is his first release since 1995's "Tilt".

I like that album you YSI'd, and I've been meaning to get more by him since then. So far, though, it's the only one I have.

Glad to hear he's still pluggin' along.
I'm a fan of Scott's work as well as 'The Walker Brothers' catalogue.
The following reckid - 'BoyChild' has some great tracks on it. I've always wondered if Bowie was a big fan of Mr. Walker.

In fact, Bowie lists Walker as his biggest idol.

I'm looking forward to this new record, having gotten into his stuff last year. I downloaded a couple of his earliest records, & bought the "Sings Jacque Brel" CD.

I've heard some bits of "Tilt" & it's on my "to buy" list.

Thanks.
Yeah - it figures.
Between Ziggy, the Thin-White Duke, his love for Anthony Newley and now his claim that Scott Walker is his biggest idol...I wonder if we ever got to know the 'real' Dave.

I love Tilt. Thought he'd wandered off into retirement, but this is cool news.

That's one way to put it. You could also say "that guy with one of the greatest singing voices in the history of all things."

Walker never did glam. He did orchestral folk-pop. Glam dudes love him, but he's more like Nick Drake with more musical layers and deeper voice. Like The Righteous Brothers as Bowie.

Am I thinking of the wrong guy? Wasn't he in some horrible 80s-hairmetal esque band. And then did some really lame dance music.

Oh, maybe you're thinking of Marc Almond from Soft Cell. Or Phil Whatsitface from Human League.

Walker's a lot older than that.

edit: you said metal, though. Maybe you're thinking Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots?

Yeah, him. I didn't know, Marvelous 3 was cool to like ironically a few years ago(ahem, the Darkness) so I thought maybe a few of you were stragglers.
