I consider King Crimson an instrumental band that happens to have vocals - not many are listening for the vocals, that's for sure. (And the power of the 4 ProjeKcts and all those KC instrumentals makes me really wish the band would give up trying to write pop songs. Adrian Belew's an intriguing song-writer, but leave that for your solo stuff, Ade. KC's about the playing, not the singing.)

some of the instrumental on the cd that came with the wilco book are pretty good. that instrumental track on crooked rain crooked rain is another favorite. 5-4 = unity i think.

Does The Replacements' "Seen Your Video" qualify? I always considered it an instrumental, despite the scattered spoken word stuff and the chorus at the end.

Others:
Iron Maiden - "Losfer Words" :rawk:
Blur - "Lot 109"

The worst BTW is Pavement - '5-4=Unity'
