If there's only 2 urinals and one is occuppied, or there's 3 and the unused is in the middle, I'm going in the stall. I do lift the seat usually (with my foot) and am an unabashed booger wiper.

Turn signals, slow drivers, and left lane hogs: INSTANT DEATH. No judge, No Jury, Steel Jacketed Behavior Changer in you fucking skull!!

My pet peeves are more stuff like :
People who wear white tennis shoes and pleated khakis to work.
People who clip cell phones to their belt.
Guys who use hair gel, or worse yet, hair dryers.
Republicans
Liberals
People who were black shoes with a brown belt, or vice versa.
I could go on for days.

I only use it if the "one space" rule would be violated.

peeves off the top of my head:

*popping gum
*people who shit and don't leave the fan on in the co. bathroom
*nagging
*people who constantly tell me about their sex lives
*picking noses in front of me
*ordering a beer and leaving it 3/4 full
*double dipping
*not filling up the water when the person emptied it

- people who let their cats wander the neighborhood and shit in my yard
- people who talk loudly on cell phones in confined areas (elevator, bus, train, etc.)
- people at work who leave food in the sink and don't run the disposal-- do they live like this at home too?
- people who have parties and require their guests to take off their shoes-- irritating beyond belief
- cyclists who don't wear a helmet or follow traffic laws
- call waiting-- this has always pissed me off
- single-driver miniature women who drive Hummers

Oh, I could go on and on.

- litterbugs
- people who walk out of a building/store and stop. usually causes two to three people to walk right into them or someone else. same applies at train stations... i'm sorry that you lost something, but please move to the side of the walkway to dig through your bag.
- people who constantly make pop culture references. i get it. you watched a lot of tv as a kid.
- bad breath. unless you're sick or elderly, there's no excuse to not brush your teeth regularly.

I have to ask if this is an American standard or something because I've never gone into a person's house without removing my shoes, party or otherwise. It's just an assumed custom, always take off your footwear. Someone mentioned this to me once before, that in the US, people never really remove their shoes indoors. I could be mistaken, other CDNs (or US residents) can correct me if I am. It's just a small (and subtle) idiosyncrasy that I've wondered about.

I don't think people typically take off their shoes here. It always seems to be the people who are overly concerned about their uber-hip white shag area rug, or pristine refinished hardwood floors. If you're that goddamned concerned about your property, don't invite a horde of people over for a party! (besides, how else are you supposed to model your fabulous new shoes in front of other folks? ;) )

i'm surprised at the number of people who don't take off their shoes at home. it's usually the first thing i do when i get home. i agree, though, that it's poor hostmanship to have a party and ask all guests to remove their shoes.

Growing up, my step-pops had everyone remove their shoes before entering the home. He grew up on a farm where his folks insisted he take off his shoes so as not to track cowshit & other goodies found on the barn floor into the home. Now I'm programmed to take off the kicks at the door (in my own home). And bc the wife is Japanese, she enforces the rule to no end - visitors DO have the luxury of keeping footwear on.

even worse is when people step onto a train and stop just inside the door. this is especially irritating when it's rush hour, the train is crowded, and they're the first person at their stop to step aboard! if there are a dozen people trying to get into a door no wider than five feet that's open for maybe ten seconds and you block them, you should be thrown out. that is almost as bad as those jerks who get off buses at the front when there're a lot of people boarding. "there's another door designed specifically for getting out, use it."

is this because you may not get a lot of them?

well, what if's an asian household? asian tradition= take shoes off before entering the house.

my current pet peeves:
-people who blatantly lie to your face
-people who destroy your trust
-people who cheat
-people who can't admit when they're wrong

that's me! people tend to stay at parties longer if their footware is off :)

which leads to my pet peeves:
+ dirty floors
+ chewing gum with your mouth open
+ s.a.d.d.d.t.i. - selective attention deficit disorder due to iPod
+ toilet squatters. for shit's sake, ladies, get one of those seat protectors and sit on the damn seat. your piss and other matter are all over the place and you're not cleaning it up. myself or someone else has to clean up after your misplaced pee-pee, or else somebody's gonna sit on it. your computer mouse probably has more germs.

and that's not all! try to pass by Burly Dude with MetalCore on the f-train. try standing behind the girl at the counter buying cigs who refused to take the earbuds out when she asks the clerk, "how much?" just have the consideration of plugging back into reality every now and again.

that too, i suppose. i just don't think it's funny to quote someone else all the time. come up with something original.

Yeah, I'm amazed at the number of people who wear shoes inside. I always take my shoes off right at the front door and put them in the hall closet.

Whenever I have a party, everybody takes their shoes off. I don't even have to ask and they don't have to think about it. You're going into somebody's house, you don't walk around in your shoes that could have whatever stuck to the bottom of them. That's just rude.

oh my fuckin god, you don't understand how annoyed i got with this one person. he would turn everything into a quote from a song or a movie and find him hilarious. so i started charging a tax on him, $2 for every song, $1 for every movie... by the end of the day, he owed me like $25. easiest way to make money EVER.

no, I think that's probably my #1 post on here, but i have to remind myself every once in awhile.

my pet meeves are too numerous and stupid to list here, other than
SLAMMING SCREEN DOORS drives me totally insane.

I could seriously compile lists of 100 pet peeves each for:

-driving
-home
-work
-at the bar
-cell phones
-driving 2
