Listening to Give It Back! right now and I'm liking it a whole lot more than I remember liking it.

Good shit.

Now, I gotta see that movie DiG, about them and the Dandy Warhols.

I like the film. It does tend to make Anton look completely off his head, and Courtney look kind of stuck up. But the whole thing is pretty engrossing.

You should listen to "Take It From the Man!" I think it's the best BJM album.

Dig is entertaining... remember that the film only depicts the first few yrs of BJM and it's biased towards the Dandys.

Funny, I thought it was biased to the Dandy's as commercial ability, but BJM seemed more like the complete artist, even admitted to by the Dandy's themselves. Anyhow, well worth the watch.

And Take it from the Man is I'd say their best. The comp release this year is a good intro.

factoid: I went to jr. high/high school with the sister and cousin of the director.

Reason why I said I thought it was biased to the Dandys was because the footage of BJM was covered only up to '97, where as the Dandys went up to 2003... so it seemed like the filmmaker favortized the Dandys and you're wondering, what the hell happened to Anton and band during the remaining years? You're left thinking he went nuts or something... but yeah, it's definitely an interesting documentary.

I getchya. You're right about that. I think they do catch up a tiny bit with Anton's explanation that HIS revolution did come in the form of White Stripes etc.[ in the extras features].

Yeah, I was gonna post that too. I scooped up a lot of it about a year ago. Some is good, some is just this side of unbearable.

The only thing I own is that retrospective double disc, which come to think of, I'm not sure I've ever listened to fully...

Give It Back!, Take It From The Man!, and Thank God For Mental Illness are all fucking choice. Of the other releases, there's always a few worthwhile songs at least. One of my favorite bands, only a little less so after Dig and seeing how insane Anton is.[/i]
