I think one of the producers said in an interview that things were gonna get a little more "Lord of the Flies" as the season goes on.

Regarding the "good episode/bad episode" thing (not just talking about Lost but anytime people talk about TV series nowadays), I've decided that since the advent of the full-season DVD box set, people aren't just going with the flow of a show anymore, they're scoring each episode one by one toward the eventual decision of whether or not to buy the DVD set.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

The Libby/spy thing is interesting, but I agree that it breaks down when you try to take it back to Hurley's institutionalization. Maybe before that, but he's had no problem remembering that time up till now. I don't think we're supposed to assume that was a pickup line - he obviously was having a deja vu of somekind, and she obviously made up the foot-stepping to shut him up.

The Drive Shaft video shoot with the band in a crib wearing diapers made me hot.

On a more serious note, I think Locke is going to be a problem. He hoarded the Heroin, has total control over the guns, changed the lock on the safe room (that is what he was doing near the end of the episode) and I haven't trusted him since his flashback where it showed him as a pathetic little man. Judging from next week's previews when Sun is snagged and Jack wants a gun to go after her, Locke doesn't exactly help out. Eventually, we're going to see an Eko and Locke face off and my money is on Locke being the bad guy.

Eko and Locke facing off? They should get married.

And the repeats begin, again.

I got the impression that next week's episode is going to be a repeat. I think the announcer said something like "coming up on Lost..." (not next week's Lost.) It's quite possible I'm mistaken, though.

No, I think the same thing. Which blows, since its been like 3 new episodes since they returned from the holiday hiatus.

In Red Sox parlance, Eko is Big Papi and Locke is John Olerud.

Hurley is Manny. Jack is Varitek. Sawyer is Nixon.

I actually liked this episode a lot, even though there was very little to push the story development forward. I get the feeling this one was setting up a number of big things to come - Hurley and Libby (now I'm hoping they don't make her an Other because she hot - more Libby please,) Jack and Ana's army, Locke and . . . something having to do with heroin and guns, Eko and some sort of spiritual affront . . .

There won't be an episode next Wednesday because February sweeps begin Thursday. Here's the schedule for Lost, including last night's episode for reference (this could change any time, of course, depending on how ABC feels.)

212 - 1/25/06

(repeat) - 2/1/06

213 - 2/08/06
214 - 2/15/06
215 - 2/22/06

(a MONTH of repeats!)

216 - 3/22/06
217 - 3/29/06
218 - 4/05/06

(three weeks or repeats!)

219 - 4/26/06
220 - 5/03/06
221 - 5/10/06
222 - 5/17/06
223 - 5/24/06 (two hour finale)

Holy shit, that schedule sucks. I almost wish they would play this show like 24 premiering in January and playing straight through with no break or repeats.
However, I guess the repeats serve a purpose to hook the semi-interested viewer into the story. Still, that month off is shitty.

I'm reallly interested in the Hurley-Libby storyline because she was lying her ass off to him.

there is no way libby likes hurley. libby is trying to shut him up, off, something. she's dangerous.

i think locke is ultimately good, but i'm team eko for the next two episodes. i think eko's gonna go mental evenutally due to the fact charlie burned down all his trees.

why would locke not send those statues off to sea? i'm sure we'll get some answers on that soon.

i wish jack wouldn't have been such an indolent prick when he was confronted by the others. he read that they were scared but didn't ask enough questions.

i want to be on team kate, but i just know ana lucia's gonna be a hero in one of these episodes soon.

I thought last night's ep was fairly boring, but then again, I hate Charlie, so I couldn't give a rip what is going on with him or where he came from. The Drive Shaft video was paaaaaaaaaaainful.

Interesting theory on Libby... definitely agree with all of you that she's a potential spy, and she did the whole toe-stepping thing to shut Hurley up. We still really haven't found out exactly why Hurley was in the institution... I hope they return to this soon.

Yeah, what's up with Locke hiding the statues? Maybe use the heroin later as a form of drugging "enemies"? I'm totally on Team Eko.

Priceless moment: when Ana Lucia asked Jack if he'd been "hitting that" and he gives her a totally confused "I'm over 30 and I don't understand hip slang" look.

I wasn't surprised that Locke was storing the junk. Its primary purpose is a painkiller after all, so to me it would be a logical thing to have around. It sure would have been helpful to ol' Boone as he lay there in what must have been a whole lotta agony.

so those of you on the "libby-as-a-spy" tip...she was dead on about how hurley was the last one on the plane, running and all sweaty. so she is a spy that was on the plane?

also, i agree with DJ about locke thinking the heroin could possibly be useful for medical reasons later on (painkiller).

i like this because he kept it in the weapons closet, he didn't tell jack and he was handling it so reverently/dangerously.

a spy, but not necessarily for the others. for the med group that put the hatch there. unless that group is the same as the others. or the others were an offshoot of the medical group, gone crazy from the "incident"

It seemed like she made up the part about him stepping on her foot, though, and there are ways she could have found out that he was the last one on and that he was wearing headphones. I was thinking she wasn't actually on the plane, but as katie said, she might have been. She could still be a spy for the Dharma thing or something else.

I'm not as detail-oriented as some viewers, but I'd be curious to see if Libby is shown anywhere in the Dharma film.

Also... has this been mentioned already? I either read it online somewhere, or my husband and I talked about it... who's to say that these people haven't been implanted with memories ala "Blade Runner?" Not that they're replicants or whatever, but just as a psychological experiment. If that's the case, then it surely makes sense that Libby was part of an original study group, and she has details of their "experience" to back her up.

I didn't care for last night, because other than Ana Lucia, Charlie and Claire are the two most annoying characters. Plus, I now triple hate Charlie for being engaged to Kate in real life.

Oh, and while I do find Libby attractive, she was way hotter as the wife on "Titus."

ooh, just read this on another forum, which is very true:

"If Libby was in the tail, how did Hurley step on her foot on the way to his seat?"

I look at Television Without Pity quite often. I think ABC has their own Lost forum. Other forums links can be found in the long-ass Lost thread of a few months ago.
