Haven't read any of those types of mags lately, but the album is pretty swell. To this older non-musician/non-actor, anyway.

Oh don't get me wrong, I haven't heard 'em, and it's probably great. But as a side note, people like Mick Jagger are mentioning them in short, 1-page articles / blurbs. This was Coldplay's spot in 2000. I'm not sure how this happens, except maybe with an excellent team of street teaming ninja assassins.

they're a very young, and extremely tight band, playing energetic, punk fueled indie rock.

oh, and the lyrics are fucking great.

I've heard about half the album, and it immediately caught my ear. I think I'm going to pick this up. However, I can kinda tell that I might get sick of them quickly.

Yeah, I haven't heard a note. I'm afraid they're going to sound just like the other Franz Ferdinand/Bloc Party/Kaiser Chiefs/Killers/Bravery soundalikes.

Yes, because all five of these bands sound exactly alike and are of equal merit. :wanker:

These guys have their own take on dancey post-punk. Solid debut. Could be a top 5 British album for this year, but... well c'mon it's NME.

you can check them out here

i don't think they are in the quite same place as franz ferdinand et al; they have a harder edge, a little more street, considerably less pretentious - while i don't think they break any moulds and i've found their yorkshire accents as honest as their witty and intelligent lyrics.

theirs is the fastest-selling british (debut or not) album evah!

me likey.
