I'm sitting here at my desk, drinking a weak cup of coffee and thinking about, amongst other things, Pope Benedict's new encyclical on love and understanding; how it is that Peter Murphy is still in the Celebrity Big Brother house; whether or not I should hear my professor give a reading in Williamsburg; the break-up between Nick & Jessica; how I can end up on Made, Flavor of Love, or Next; and how in the world I'm supposed to do all that reading for class next week.

What are you up to? Anything interesting going on this weekend?

I am enjoying a cup of mud, or rather, coffee and eyeing my gloves knowing I should have put them on and departed for work minutes ago. When I get there, I will slack off.

i'm drinking a cup of very good coffee.
listening to jack johnson's live set from bonnaroo '02.
(which i was at.)
and thinking about possibly starting some work soon.

i'm also trying to figure out the new personal organizer/pda thingie that i bought yesterday and daydreaming about how organized it's going to make me.

(though it just took me a good 30 minutes to figure out how to set the right date in there. )

For some reason I'm here procrastinating when I could be going to get lunch.

"Too lazy to get lunch" is a bad sign, methinks.

edit: i.e. I feel like my avatar looks.

i am drinking a fantastic cup of coffee, wolfing down a breakfast sandwich, suffering from lack of sleep and being hungover, my back hurts, and i have a meeting at 10:30 that i really don't want to go to because my brain refuses to function right now.

I am realizing that it's 46 degrees out (that's warm as shit), that I have over half a tank of gas in the bike, that I can do my Econ homework later, and that there is no excuse whatsofuckingever to be sitting in the tiny media closet of my tiny condo typing on obner when I could be buzzing around the countryside with a smile on my face and 2 beers in the saddlebags.

you confused me, so i looked up the word to see what's what. (from dictionary.com):

Quote:
brogue 1
n.
A heavy shoe of untanned leather, formerly worn in Scotland and Ireland.
A strong oxford shoe, usually with ornamental perforations and wing tips.

***********************************************************

brogue 2
n.
A strong dialectal accent, especially a strong Irish accent

substitute 'scottish' for 'irish' and i think the confusion is cleared up...

but Aidan's the singer, no?

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm genuinely not sure.

there are two singers, i'm pretty sure. it was definitely malky doing the singing on this one, though.

i didn't think you were being a dick.

edit: from allmusic.com:
Quote:
The Scottish post-folk duo Arab Strap was formed in mid-1995 by vocalist Aidan Moffett and multi-instrumentalist Malcolm Middleton, longtime friends who after years of exchanging cassettes of their respective bands decided to finally begin collaborating together.

oh, i don't know. i'm tired now.
