Stars concert in Toronto on the weekend, so my friend and I exchanged presents early.

I got her the Yeah Yeah Yeahs dvd and the Alice In Wonderland novels.

She got me the first Iron & Wine cd and the Stars 'comeback' EP.

If I enjoy the rest of my gifts half as much, I'll be a happy camper.

I got Metroid Prime 2: Echoes from the superawesome Lemur, and played it for hours yesterday. And finally found a frigging save point.

<------Is waiting on his copy of Halo 2.

Had the Dad's side of the family Christmas yesterday since it's so hard to get together on the actual day. Aunt hooked me up with a Blockbuster movie gift card and a Tower records gift card.

I have taught them well over the years.

my boyfriend gave me a super cool lucite rainbow ring.
and I got lotsa cool bliss lipgloss, and hot cocoa shower wash and marshmellow lotion from friends.
since my family lives in hawaii, we don't gift as much as we used to...just getting together is enough.

haven't had the official family gift opening yet, but from friends so far:

a 10 pack of seasonal beers (mostly Oregon beers but a Guinness was included, although I don't think Guinness is geared towards Christmas/winter only)
a roll of "Wipe your Tush with Bush" toilet paper
a weird dried floral heart-shaped wreath thingie (from a co-worker... can we say re-gift?)
a 2 month subscription to fruit forward, which sends you 2 bottles of wine per month-- excellent gift idea, btw, but they don't ship to all the states.

I got a pair of sterling silver Bulldog cufflinks sitting under the tree at my dad's house. If I had to guess at the rest, I would think there's a book in there somewhere, and hopefully something cool from my mom. Me no get much this Christmas, but I'm not really in a Christmas mood, so I don't really care.

I have absolutely no clue. I won't know til xmas eve.

I am rather suspicious of my older brother's gift though. It's mind boggling, whatever it is that he keeps giving me hints of. All I know is that it's electronic and it's kinda big I think and it's a hand me down because him and his wife don't use it anymore(that part is an Uhhhh ok moment).

I just hope it's one of those massage chairs. I could use one.

From my dad I will probably get a lot of cd's and dvd's since my xmas list was comprised of just that. My mom, who knows.

And I asked Josh for a new jewelry box since my old one needs to go.

My closest friends and I have a longstanding agreement not to buy for each other.

My mother & stepfather paid for my flight to take a trip to Portland, Seattle, & Vancouver.

That's all I need- a fucking vacation away from LA. I'm happy.

Christmas eve. Oh, you're one of those people.

<---Strictly a open presents Christmas morning person.

Guess it has to do with how your parents do it when you're kids.

Today, I gots me a plaque.

It reads:

Channel X Radio
The Canxus Broadcasting Award
for Universal Broadcaster Of The Year

Presented To Philip D. Shaw

For having the Universal Ability
to write and air newscasts, sportscasts,
host music programs, produce commercial copy,
program music,
and make computers do what they are supposed to do.

Thank You From A Grateful Company

December 18, 2004

There's only 30 employees in this "universal" company. I appreciate the gesture, particularly since it's in lieu of a decent wage or benefits package.

iPod!! Good, good, good husband. He pre-loaded it with a decent chunk of our recent cd collection, too, plus a couple new ones I didn't have. This wins major points.

Oh yeah, and my mom is buying me 'the patch.' I can't wait to wear it inconspicuously.

I wish this applied to me. I generally get to marvel at the shit my dad gets his "new" kids. And talk shit with my sister about how "we never got shit like that." Seriously, each of the little bastards has their own Nintendo whatever, XBox, PS2, and Nintendo DS, oh and G4 Powerbook. I guess really I'm just jealous.

HA! I like how my parents buy my wife gifts that are exclusively for her, yet, I get shit that is really for the both of us.

I've only gotten one present so far, a $100 gift certificate to Target from my boss.

I'll find out what else on Friday. I expect I'll get a book or two from my mom and probably a CD or two from my brother.

I'm pulling for SCOTUS to help you out on this one.
