Our plumbing sounds like a diesel engine when our sprinklers are running. I'm pretty sure it's air in the pipes, but I've so far been unable to get rid of it. It's unbelievably annoying - we had to switch from watering at 3am in the summer (because once the sun's up here in AZ, watering is futile) to doing it in the late evening while we're awake. It'll wake you up otherwise.

Haha, that's funny. One of my sprinkler Zones does the same thing (it is air in the pipes BTW though you can minimize the noise by better insulating any exposed pipes); I've twice sleepily gotten up at 5:45 am to try and figure out why someone is banging on the front door.....nope, stupid sprinklers, back to bed.

...ha ha, the Immaculate Conception. Had one of those show up in our toilet in college, with no toilet paper. Heated finger pointing ensued.
