Does anyone find this comic strip remotely amusing? I'd rather read Cathy.
The one today kind of pissed me off. Yeah, we're just retards who just rip up ALL your mail all day.

This is sniveling, right-wing apologist propoganda bullsit and it should be eliminated. Its a shame that a funny strip like the boondocks has to get cancelled while this Andy Rooney piece of crap flourishes.

Andy Rooney didn't write that.

He said it, though.

I'm sure Boondocks is ALWAYS getting canned somewhere. What a great strip.

Besides the smarminess, for some reason I hate the way Fillmore strip is drawn. Even if it wasn't right-wing, it would grate and make me want to punch somebody.

Same with Doonesberry. I admire Trudeau and largely appreciate his humor but can't stand the look of the thing.

The only good thing about Mallard Fillmore is whoever writes keeps pimping Veronica Mars which is pretty much the best show ever.

I enjoy it a great deal. But nothing has topped the original bloom county for me yet, and I suspect nothing ever will.

does anybody read penny-arcade.com/comic? if you aren't or at one time a big video game nerd, it's not funny at all, but otherwise it's about the funniest thing out there. too bad it's a weekly.

The only ones I really enjoy in the Boston Globe are Boondocks, Monty, Bliss and Arlo & Janis for some strange reason. I get Mutts e-mailed to me daily too.

Toyfare magazine is pretty funny when they make comic strips with action figures.

Nothing wrong with Arlo n' Janis. One of my favorites, but which, unfortunately, was removed from my local paper. I can't figure it; they keep Sally Forth, but axe ANJ.

Pearls before Swine, which has been shouted out before, here, is stellar as well.

Awesome - finally another VM fan on the board. Why no one else is watching this show is beyond me. I love Lost too (the only other show to which I can compare this level of writing,) but I have absolutely nothing to complain about after each week's VM. If anything, I just want to go around begging people to watch.

Calvin & Hobbes ran for a year after that so you're wrong.

Calvin & Hobbes was good, but never made me go after the comics page like The Far Side did.

Calvin & Hobbes was one of a handful of "greatest comics ever." Not as long-lived as Peanuts, but as good, contentwise.

The Far Side I thought was brilliant on first read of each panel, but the ridiculousness factors of the strips were more effective first time. Subsequent viewings are still funny, but Calvin & Hobbes holds up like Peanuts with repeated anthology readings. It's not Larson's fault, though, that seven million hacks have imitated him over the past couple of decades, diluting the original strips. Larson's kind of The Beatles of neurotic animal comics.
