Earlier I did a poll for what we though the best movie of 2005 was. Unfortunately many of the best flicks seem to come out in the last 5 weeks of the year. I know many of you do not see as many movies as you would like but I figured most everyone here has good taste (besides Loogar & Bloor). Thus with the help of OPA! I am creating The Obnscar top 10 movie list. Here is the deal. Look over this complete listing and rank your top 10 1-10. 1 being your favorite and 10 being your 10th favorite (difficult I know). From there the poll will be scored as follows. 1/3 average ranking 2/3 total ranking (based on vote totals). I felt this system allowed for movies that everyone has seen to get an unfair advantage over the quality movies very few people have seen. Please e-mail your list to obnscars@yahoo.com. Actually I think I saw less than 10 movies that came out this year & almost none of the heavy favorites that came out recently

it's interesting to look through the list of movies because there are a bunch of movies that were so hyped at the time but were quickly forgotten, like alien vs. predator.

Also, please notice that the movie list Pagoda and I put together is a lot more complete than the list Shmoo and friends put together for their poll. We have listed EVERY movie that was released in 2004. Beat that.

Anyway, I'll put my list together shortly.

And what's up with the low turnout, come on people.

And Chase, the Mean Creek wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. The previews looked so good, and the movie really flopped in my opinion. Although the premise is really good.

i didn't end up watching it, the gf wanted to watch sky captain and the world of tomorrow. it's gotta be better than that was.

I'm way too lazy to watch all those movies. Can I disqualify myself?

ok, i watched it tonight, and my official opinion is that you are tripping. i really liked it, like say as a 7.5/10 rating or so. they eviscerated the core of its brutality by the end, but they did a really good job of reminding me that you at age 13 is actually the worst person that you'll be in your entire life. it was a little disconcerting how the tough/cool kid seemed like he was channeling brad pitt throughout the flick.
