Just take a magazine with you. You'll never get invited again.

I actually have a great story about me going to a dinner party but I can't tell you it because it's just too funny. If only I could contact Larry David I'd have a writers credit on the next season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, guarenteed.

what are we going to steal your story?

I like to entertain the idea that one day I'll be writing for TV, even although I do absolutely nothing to achieve that aim.

I'm sure the night will be fine. I guess it's just the concept of "dinner party" i'm terrified of. at least it's on a friday night where I have no qualms of getting butt wasted.

You'll be fine. You're a perfect gentleman. Just relax and enjoy the evening. :)

You realize that's code amongst the Polyamorous Society for an orgy. If they realize you're not one of them, you may get the Eyes Wide Shut treatment.

You should definitely go.

Dinner parties are good. These things are fucking evil. I can't understand how anyone could organize/rope friends into these things with a clear conscience. It's like taking all the good will out of parties and is more than a little insulting.

the friend that invited me is pretty cheesy. she's a nice girl, but she's all big hair, big make-up and blow. i love her, but hanging out with her is a chore sometimes...

The closest thing I attended to a dinner party in the last 3 years since I been single is wings & beer watching the at the local sports bar and friday night BBQ at a friends house. That's the great thing about live in Phoenix...You can have BBQ nearly year round!!!

Lemme guess.... Cookie Lee? One of my co-workers is always pimping that shit here at work.

edit: she, too, has big hair. I wonder if this is a requirement.
