spending 6-8 billion dollars a month in Afghanistan and Iraq and bankrupting the country, losing 1200 or so people, maybe 75000 Iraqis, pissing off the rest of the world, and dubya still can't wipe that smirk off his friggin face.

Move your retirement plans to Asian markets aka China.

It's OK, Jesus will take care of everything.

EU's as volatile as the US currently. Asian markets recently climbed out of a recession. Our Chinese imports are equaling some $33 trillion and our China exports equaling $2 trillion it doesn't take much to see that China will eventually dominate world trade and very soon.

Not cool. China is a human rights disaster. Manufacturing/factory workers are lucky if they bring home $50 a month and they work 13+ hours a day 7 days a week.

then we need to pressure them (along with 100 other countries) to implement reforms. that won't stop us from expanding there, or in India, eastern europe, brazil, south east asia sorry to say. we need inexpensive labor and they need jobs.

Exactly, the floodgates have opened.

Edit: Quality of life in the US will decrease dramatically in the next 10 years. Also, middle class will eventually be nonexistent.

As long as they stay away from Kansas, they're fine.

My co-worker is being mobilized to go to Iraq(Marine reserves). About 120 miles outside of Baghdad, El Saad I believe. She leaves in a month.

She read this earlier on CNN and looked at me with a straight face and said "I'm gonna be alright aren't I?"

I told her she was going to be fine and not to worry. Fact is, no one is safe over there. The Mosul base is over 200 miles from Baghdad.

Fuck Bush for never having to truly know what grief he has wrecked upon over 1200 families.

G-Dub's press conference pre-empted Ellen yesterday, which I only get to watch two days a week (due to sleeping from the job the other 3 days) and I was so angry. And he kept talking about the war, then giggling and I just wanted to punch him. Hard. A lot of the kids from the Marine ROTC program at ISU used to be doorguys at the bar I frequent and they're all over in VI getting trained to blow up people and die over in Iraq. What a freakin' bummer. I did my part for the economy by doing all my shopping yesterday. Hopefully, overdrawing my account helped some stock holder who will later serve 2 months in a blue-collar prison. I'm feeling a bit down here today.

But our multi-billion dollar 'star wars' multi-nuclear warhead defense system will save us just like Jesus.

Wouldn't it be nice if the EU became the dominent Western economy for a while and the U.S. settled down into boring old second place?

I believe just recently the EU over took the USA as the world's most powerful economy.

I read that from a creditable source. But I don't really know anything about economics except I never seem to have any money.
