There is "Gene by Gene" by Blur, but I'm not a big fan of it.

Supposedly Big Star does a song with my name in it, but I've never heard it.

Great song. It's on 3rd/Sister Lovers.

There's probably some biker rock song, but I don't know. If "Born To Be Wild" doesn't have it in it, then I don't know what would.

none of the versions of "Cotton Fields" bother me too much, though.

Beastie Boys - "Pass The Mic"

I'm The A.D.R.O.C.K. In The Place With The Bass I'm Going
All The Way I Can't Stop Y'All Tick Tock Y'All And If You Think
That You're Slick You'll Catch A Brick Y'All 'Cause I'm A Turn It In
And I'm A Turn It Out But For Now I've Got To Pass The Mic To Krauth

Rolling Stones - "Torn And Frayed"

Hey let him follow you down,
Way underground wind and he's bound.
Bound to follow you down,
Just a dead beat right off the street.
Bound to follow you down.
Well the ballrooms and smelly bordellos
And dressing rooms filled with parasites.
On stage the band has got problems,
They're a bag of nerves on first nights.
He ain't tied down to no home town,
Yeah, and he thought he was wreckless.
You think he's bad, he thinks you're mad,
Yeah, and the guitar player gets restless.
And his coat is torn and frayed,
It's seen much better days.
Just as long as the guitar plays
Let it steal your heart away,
Let it steal your heart away.
Joe's got a cough, sounds kind a rough,
Yeah, and the codeine to fix it.
I got Chris Krauth, drug store supplies,
Who's gonna help him to kick it?
Well his coat is torn and frayed,
It`s seen much better days.
Just as long as the guitar plays
Let it steal your heart away,
Let it steal your heart away.

Ok, so i made those up.

Ya mean our real name? There's a cool little tune from Pere Ubu called "Nobody Knows" from Worlds In Collision that I kinda always liked ...

Here's a ditty about a guy named Davey
He had a life like to drive him crazy
Don't you see that it's a bitter pill
to never know what lies over the hill?

One of the problems with having the lamest name ever is that besides people consistently chuckling when they use the phrases average joe, or joe blow, and then immediately make it worse by saying bazooka joe, is that they often sing my name to.

Whenever I get hailed with, "Yo Joe!" and some witty bastard always pipes in with, "you're a real american hero". And, when worse comes to worst the person intends to get my attention by quoting G.I. Joe because they think after 26 years of life that they are the first person to think of that.

Or, tied for first place and most irritating is when someone is calling me and says, "hey joe", and then another comedian shouts out, not in tune mind you, ""where you goin' with that gun in your hand". Ugh.

I feel your pain, brother. I tend to get variations on the "Hey Charles, you still in charge?!! Well? Are ya?!" Then they beam at the cleverness of associating my name with a show that aired 20 some years ago. After that, I generally batter them into unconsciousness.
