Sorry if someone already posted about them but I couldn't find a thread about them in the first 5 pages I searched. These guys sound A LOT like My Morning Jacket or maybe it's just the guy's voice because I don't think their sound is as country music influenced as MMJ. The album is pretty good though, I'm not sure if it's out yet.

i'm enjoying the hell out of this album. here's a thread...

http://obner.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=150 ... wicked+gil

i pm'd it around a few months ago to some people, and i think only handful were into it (kinda surprised by that).

"Wicked Gil" is one of the best tunes i've heard this year so far.

I also will add that I hear just a bit of Built To Spill in their sound.

yeah, i gotta admit...this didn't do much for me. i gave it a good 4-5 listens too, but all i got outta it was total MMJ soundalikes. by no means was it bad...just didn't do much for me.

Digging, not sure I'm hearing the BTS yet, but I've only listened to the track twice.

For anyone who has this, willing to share?

Sorry for the late response, but I just listened to this record. Yes, he sounds like Jim James, but man, I wish the latest MMJ sounded like this. I think this record is great.

Thanks for the bump. I was just wondering what to listen to next.

And the BTS thing isn't as obvious/overt as the MMJ comparison. It was really more just a feeling I got from a couple songs.

I just got a comp cd with several tracks from them on it, and they're the standouts so far.

I thought they sounded a bit like the Shins. Love the album

These guys are coming to town this weekend, and I'm contemplating seeing the show--anyone seen them live?

Just missed their show at Neumo's while I was in Seattle this past weekend. Should've gone. I've had the advance for a few months now but haven't listened fully.
DM - word has it they put on a good show. I would make it out. I'm regretting not seeing the hometown show.
