there used to be an obner room.
I forget the exact name. Try creating an "obner" room and see if that throws you in with the others.

But all the cool people use BCDC++ and have our own private hub.

It's not stealing. It's a musical library card. Just ignore the late fees.

Speaking of stealing music ...

How easy is it to convert a m4p file to mp3?

I have such a file but I can't play the damn thing as I am not the owner of it.

The only way I know how is to burn the m4p to audio CD and rip that CD back to mp3.

m4p is the drm protected itunes aac format. if you bought it with itunes 5 or earlier, you can use jhymn. if you bought it with itunes 6, the only way to do it is to burn it to a cd and then rip it into mp3. isnt drm great?

When you say burn to CD, the m4p file itself?

btw it's this:

The Autolux track. It's killing me that I can't hear the damn thing! drm can suck it.

i'm relatively sure that there is a soundcard workaround you can use in winamp that might save you a few cds. just open up the file in winamp, and then use a plugin like this one that captures all output and converts it to mp3.[/url]

I completely ignored when you guys were doing this. Please fill me in on how I can join this wonderful network. I'm still totally satisfied with Soulseek, but if there is more sharing going on this BCDC thing, I want in. Thanks.

The obner room on SoulSeek is still up and running though the only regulars these days are myself, dmbself, and tentoze.

With the occasional appearance by Green Plastic Watering Can.

I'm on occasionally as popbabylon, and Fastnbulbus is alway eager to share.

I too would like to know more of this mysterious hub you speak of.

All the info you need here:

When you get on, I'll help you configure router and ip address and what-not to achieve active status which gets you carte-blanche. (or however you spell it)

I use soulseek, but I don't consider myself a thief. I test. I'm more than happy to buy a CD if I like three or more songs.
