An excellent, hip choice of an album to which to pay tribute. I'm not much of a lyrics person, but this album...

We did something like this in the late summer of 2004, but it was a 1 night revue. We did A Pretty Girl is Like.

The fun part of the night was that we played an unrelated, normal show at another venue across town. We literally had to run from one stage to another to make the Magnetic Fields tribute. I was so out of breath.

Well, fuck.

I made plans last night to go with one friend and he bought tickets online. today I invited two other friends on the assumption that it wouldn't sell out. Well, it did. But that wasn't a big deal since they weren't really into it anyway they just came for a reason to get out. But then THIS happened...

The friend I'm supposed to go with walks up with his brother and I point out that it's sold out so the other two can't get in. He asks, "you bought your ticket online last night right?"
I reply, "You bought the tickets."
"I only bought two" (one for him and one for brother)
"I was talking to you on AIM last night while you were buying the tickets. You never said anything about your brother..."

Then there's some shuffling and apologizing. I just laugh it off 'cause it's pretty absurd, but I was a little sad 'cause I think it would've been a good show.

I'm still a little boggled by the stupidity of my friend though. Although I'm at least maybe %15 culpable in this since I didn't check that he was buying the other ticket for me. But it's a fair assumption since we'd been talking the whole time about others that could be invited. Christ...
