Rhona and her accent are off Boston Legal. The new female lawyer is who in Ed played the love interest of the guy now starring in Love Monkey. And I didn't even realize it until this thread but now apparently they are in competition.

I find Love Monkey mildly interesting just to see what music stuff they mention. E.g., the label chick loves We Built This City. The guy from Ed was afraid to wear his New York Dolls T-shirt to his first day on the job. It's not as cutesy as, e.g., How I met Your Mother which is a good thing. That show does have Doogie Howser channelling Richard Klein/Larry Dallas from Three's Company though. The problem is the lead mensch is no Jack Trippper but, of course, who is?

Maybe because the guy's talented. Not for nothin', but there are worse people to emulate.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Love Monkey has already been axed. Here's part of the article from AdAge.com:

Officially on hiatus
Officially, “Love Monkey” is going on hiatus, though it is unlikely to make a return given its ratings performance; audiences, it seemed, did not share the love. The show aired Tuesday at 10 p.m. and squared off against NBC’s “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” and ABC’s “Boston Legal.” A repeat of “CSI” will air in the slot on Feb. 21 after which “Amazing Race” will take the time slot. Also joining CBS’ Tuesday night slate is “The Unit,” at 9 p.m. The series, starring Scott Foley, is about covert special-forces operatives and their wives.

“Love Monkey” nabbed a 3.5 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic on its first outing on Jan. 17 and a 3.1 on its subsequent airing on Jan. 24. In total viewers, it dropped from 8.6 million to 5.3 million.

The show really had potential, too.

I'm sure the remaining episodes (5 of them) will show up on HDnet this summer.

You know, not every single fucking TV show has to be a hit. Just learn to target your market more specifically, and you can still make it pay off.

CBS is to blame for this, not the show. They chose to start a brand new show in the middle of the season on the most over-crowded night of TV. Tuesday nights are way too busy with good shows to expect people to jump ship for something new. Mondays and Fridays may not be the biggest nights for advertisers, but this show should have been on one of those nights to make it easier for people to check out. This is like UPN scheduling Veronica Mars against Lost and wondering why it's not getting the ratings they'd hoped for. Duh!

Revelation: Love Monkey was just a new form of marketing. "Wayne" is Teddy Geiger who is on Columbia Records and just had a video on MTV for his single "For You I Will (Confidence)" starring Kristen from Laguna Beach. Columbia is a Sony/BMG label, but was formally owned by CBS, which is now owned by Viacom.
Was there ever any intention for this show to go past 3 episodes? Maybe, but it was a vehicle for breaking a real-life act.

Looks like the unaired episodes are gonna start airing on VH1 Tuesdays at 8pm. They played the last 2 aired episodes tonight.

It was canceled from CBS afer 3 eps, but they are airing the rest on VH1. Not sure how many more were taped, though.

So, who watched it last nite?

Not having VH1, waiting on the torrent being released.

I did. It was decent. I've come to the conclusion that the show really just isn't as good as I hoped for. But I will still watch it anyways.

I caught part of an episode last week and I can see how this show didn't find anyone interested to watch it.

Too smug and flip for me. Annoying.
