So my Comcast HD/DVR box has a USB port on it. Uh, so i guess this means I can hook it up to one of my computers, grab whats in my DVR and burn it to DVD, right?

So how the fuck and with what software would one go about accomplishing such a feat?

it doesn't necessarily mean that, i'm guessing. it might be for them to interface with it for diagnosis, or for secure digital output to approved devices.

from what i've read on the internet, if this is a motorola unit, it's for "future uses" which have not been activated in software yet.

fair enough. so then by what means are people putting up TV content on the internets?

Just curious.

maybe it's to hook up another hard drive to get more space, or to hook to a network hub so it can access the tivo schedule over the internet.

Ethernet and USB ports are not active on the Comcast DVRs.
