but I have returned.

I'm finding that music has provided no solace this time. Something I find quite unusual.

Thank you again for all the support.

Next month at SXSW will be deemed holiday time.

Oh, and I broke my "no drinking" rule. I'm officially a cheap drunk after only one drink.

This is part of the healing process. Unitl now, it sounds like you've had little time to grieve in private. It'll seem wierd, especially when all of your emotions won't be sad. Try to focus on positive memories rather than dwell on the sense of loss. I'm not surprised music is little solace--for something this significant, it shouldn't be. I think you should look inward for solace, but at the same time know that you've got friends for when you need them.

Hang in there.

Hey Tania. Been thinking about you a lot, especially as I just picked up a few things of my dads from my sister over the weekend..

I'd like to send you a care package; any requests?

No special requests, Shell. I'm sure whatever you send will be perfect. You're a sweetheart.

Fuck, you're ALL sweethearts.

I was having this conversation with Colin about a week or so ago -- it's somewhat stunned me at how...erm...horny I've been the past three weeks or so. I am very serious. I mean, those are the last thoughts I should be having now, right?! Apparently, my body doesn't think so. And, according to Colin, our beloved scientist, it's perfectly natural.

Grief is a strange and confusing emotion.

actually the feeling randy thing is a natural feeling when dealing with loss. Don't discount it or feel like you have to dismiss it. You live. Your mind and body are reminding you of that. You are allowed grief, and sadness, and anger, and even this odd sensation of lust.
Enough of the lecture. Get out and be with people. Friends, family and the like. Breath the air and soak up some sun when and where you can, and by all means, take care of yourself.

Hey hon, when my mom's mom died, she held it together until she got to the cookbooks with her mom's recipes in it. She waited till the end for those, there was really nothing left to sort through. I guess she knew that that was the straw, but after she lost it for a day she started to act more like herself, laughing occasionally, remembering the good times, and cooking up a storm, for which i was personally thankul, cause she'd lost that loving feeling in the kitchen if you know what I'm saying. But it came back.

anyhow, i'm coming to l.a. in april to scope shit out. just so you have fair warning.

Oh yeah, remember in the future that weddings and funerals are great places to get some.

Just stop by a funeral home like you belong? Then offer consolation to the randy, needy, and attractive.

Ideally, the kids of your parents friends. Withh cousins, I think it's only allowed if they're, like, a second cousin you never met before and who lives far away and who you will never see again. And even then you can never talk about it.
