what did you give as groomsmen's gifts? i'm having a hard time trying to think of what to give. i've thought of a gift cert. to an art store for my artsy painter friend and stuff like that. i've received flasks, cigars, and the like. just seeing what you dudes have done.

I gave my groomsmen 100% Kona Coffee. From here:

We're all java junkies, so I thought it was decent ideal. Better than some paper weight or some shit like that.

No, I was too cheap.

Dakota Watchworks (kioske in a bunch of malls) had a deal, buy 4 watches and get the 5th free.

yeah, that's cool too. i agree about not doing that paperweight stuff. i'm trying to get everyone something different, something to fit their personalities since I have a wide range of personalities/interests in this group, but it's kind of difficult

We eloped, but I invited a close friend to act as witness. Fed him at a posh restaurant afterwards and gave him Grievous Angel and Supersnazz on vinyl. And the world's second strongest doob.

I'm surprised he still talks to me.

Getting everyone something different is an interesting idea, considering contrasting personalities, but I'd be worried about others feeling they got slighted or something.

my ex and i gave ties to our groomsmen. we had a super casual wedding and let them wear whatever they wanted and we provided ties. it worked. i think my ex also gave mix cds to each guy.

people expect shitty bridal party gifts, so don't get too worked up over it.

I got a pocket knife, engraved with my name, from my brother. For my groomsmen, we went to a DYI brewery and brew an awesome Ockotberfest style beer, and each groomsmen got a six bottles of that. I also pick up the tab for dinner later that night.

You can always get them a nice pen... the Retro 51 is very nice. I have several in different colors. You can get them here at this place but you can get them cheaper somewhere else. So for about $20 or less, they can have a really decent pen that matches their personality.
Any of the Tornado pens are good, have a nice heft and are balanced. a pretty nice writing instrument for the price.

Just do a search for "Retro 51"

Edit: Check out the Clearance area they have a red retractable rollerball for about $15!http://www.executiveessentials.com/detail.php/id/8193/ or the pen and pancil set for about $30 http://www.executiveessentials.com/detail.php/id/8194/

I can't remember at all, it's been 12 years and outside of my brother-in-law I haven't talked to those other idiots in about 8.

I was a best man once and I got a novelty cigarette lighter shaped like a Derringer.
