…right now, really how can anyone hate this band?

I love the Boo Radleys and the Cure moreso because of the timing but really no one really comes close to this band. The Stones or…please, everything was done in seven years, come on already! Bob Dylan is the only person who comes close, IMO.

Oh, you love em, and you know it.

Go get your copy of With the Beatles, pump it up real fucking loud and go drive around on this sunny Lincoln's Birthday...

"It won't be long, Yeah
(Yeah)
Yeah
(Yeah!)
YEAH
(YEAHH!!)

etc....

fucking awesome.

you can't spell "that's fucking awesome" without M - E - H.

I've never heard this album.

Never heard any of the Beatles albums before Rubber Soul in their entireity. Just the singles, or hits, or whatever.

When did "meh" become synonymous with "hate"?

I don't hate 'em, I couldn't be bothered to expend that much emotion nor effort. I just find them remarkably uninteresting.

The Grateful Dead...yup, I'm a hater. The Beatles don't warrant the energy.

I just said you love the beatles and you know it. ;)

Now go pump it up and drive around.

This will make anyone who is a "late-period" Beatles person, will into an "all-periods" Beatles person in just 80 minutes:

it is undeniable

And you're right Todd. I only own Rubber Soul on, but watching that movie about a month ago...

weird thing for me about the beatles is that i haven't listened to an album proper of theirs that came out before Rubber Soul but i would definitely call them my favorite band. i've heard the random songs that one would hear and have listened to a lot of collections of songs but i've never heard "help", "with the beatles", "a hard day's night" and so on in their actual forms.

and todd, i've seen the hard day's night movie but it didn't propel me into the older stuff. it did make me stop being such a bastard and ragging on it all the time though.

This album (well, really Meet the Beatles, but it's essentially the same thing) was one of the first two or three albums to really get me into music at a young age (6 or 7), along with my dad's 45s. I used to listen to the 8-track of Meet the Beatles over and over. I still pull out Meet/With the Beatles occasionally and although they did better work later on (IMO), it's really a great album.
