Anyone want to give me the 411 and possibly some sample songs from this guy? Saw the ad on pitchfork, and went to the Arts and Crafts page, but it locked the ol' pc up at work here. Thanks.

I'd really like to hear him as well, but I can't find his album anywhere around here. He played the university pub here in the fall with Feist, but I missed the show. I'm still kind of pissed about that.

Just looking at his bio on allmusic, I was surprised to see he played with Andrew Cash. I don't think I've heard his music in about 15 years.

i saw him open for broken social scene a few years ago. this was when he was supporting motor motel love songs. i thought there was an americana/alt-rock element to it, but when i got around to listening to him more, it's really just basic singer-songwriter. it's good, though.

Idols Of Exile is pretty decent. It has the usual cameos from Amy Milan, Feist, and the rest of the crew.

However, the one prior to that, Motor Motel Love Songs, I absolutely love. I saw him open for Lisa Loeb, oddly enough, and his set was really good. It was just him and the guitar but he also told stories and anecdotes between songs. Like the time he tried getting high at junior prom and ended up setting his shirt on fire.

Saw him open for Feist. Thought he was really generic and kinda phony-seeming. Kinda sucky, really.

You guys would love him.

I was just checking out upcoming local shows and it looks like he's playing here on March 23, so I may just take in this show.

I saw him too. I dunno about phony but generic pretty much suits him. He did a cover of Springsteen's I'm On Fire.

The "phony" comment was based on how he performed (acting increasingly "drunk" while visibly not drinking for the enitre set) and his forced banter with the audience.

Ah yeah, that's pretty lame. I didn't pay much attention to him.
