i didn't think it was all that great, it seemed a lot glossier than their older stuff and none of the songs really grabbed me.

This is not automatically my thing, I should preface. And while there are some tracks that are hard for me, personally, to swallow, there are some really really good tracks. It is glossily produced, but with aplomb! Some really well integrated guest spots including Roots Manuva, Fog, Jon Spencer, Mike Ladd, etc. I don't know that they're going to win many new fans with this album, but I think those already in the know could love it. It's solid.

Coldcut to me have always been real hit & miss in the studio & I have a ton of thier stuff dating back to the Arista days. Replay was better than Play & even the best DJ Food album was after they left.

But I have so much respect for them for everything else they do from doing Solid Steel, to running Ninja, developing software. And the stances they've taken are pretty admirable. I thought walking away from a sweet time slot on KISS took balls. But they thought they were the only good show at KISS that had a good time slot so in protest they wanted to take it away.

And the mixes are insane. The JDJ 70 Minutes of Madness to me is just as essential as Blue Lines, Endtroducing, Maxinquaye or Dummy.

That's for those links Jonathan
