Recorded with the aid of ex-Throwing Muses bassist Leslie Langston, Queer is the Wolfgang Press' leap into the world of dance music. The cover of Randy Newman's "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" underscores the record's stranger-in-a-strange-land vibe as Michael Allen's dramatic vocals and arcane obsessions collide head-on with the ecstatic physicality and immediacy of the dancefloor; cold and remote, the result is alien funk, a collection of idiosyncratic rhythms, dark textures, and ominous grooves.

RIYL: Velvet Underground, the The, early Ministry, Deee-Lite, Bauhaus (all jumbled together)

Do copies of this album on CD exist where the tracklisting isn't incorrect? Both my girlfriend and I have the disc and on both copies, the songs listed on the back don't match the actual sequence. And no, we didn't buy our copies at the same time and place either.

Don't get me wrong - I think it's a great album. One of those "wish I still had a radio show" discs. I just wonder if there was an issue when 4AD remastered it to CD, is all.
