Goodness... what have I been missing out on?!

Jamison is slowly but surely becoming my best friend (although the hangover isn't pretty).

What are we talking about here? Are you new to Irish Whiskey or whiskey in general? Whiskey is by far my favorite drink. Bourbon doesn't give me a hangover usually. I love Scotch and Irish but they destroy my stomach the next day.

I thought I hit submit, but I don't see my reply
I like Powers and Bushmills better for Irish, but usually go with Scotch. I like Glenmorangie and Laphoraig, even though it basically taste like Charcoal.

I'm a vodka drinker. Somehow got conned into taking shots of Jamison last night, and it was actually good.

Not whiskey in general, but I am starting to like that Jamison...

and I'm really not making sense either- I'm pretty damn delirious right now.

Tell me about it. My dad used to harp on me about drinking bourbon, so last year I developed a love of Jameson just in time for my trip to Dublin. I visited the Jameson Distillery and got to sample quite a lot of very good whiskey. And yeah, the hangover is brutal.

Thats an awesome pic, you look like yr slightly tipped on the Jameson there.

I'm a big fan of Irish Whiskey, but I'm Irish decended so, there you go. If I drink liquor at a bar, its gonna be whiskey, straight no ice. I'm not a fan of it cold. Just gimme a glass, pour it in, and let's go. Bushmill's is by far my fave.

Loves me some Whiskey - as for hangovers - layoff the cheap stuff with all of the additives and a lot of those hangovers will go away.

My wife and I have slowly(we don't really drink that often) been making our way through a number of bottles we have procured of some finer(not super high end) whiskeys - I've recently been enjoying a bottle of Knob Creek(9 years old, 100 proof).....really good stuff - my wife likes it with some good sweet and sour mix, and while I occassionally will drink it with a glass of diet pepsi I prefer to just drink it on the rocks.

I should mention that I also enjoy plenty of other flavors of whiskey(Scotch, Irish Whiskey, some of the Canadion Blends) - I'm just currently on a Bourbon kick :)

Strictly a bourbon man myself---Blantons is my favorite.

I expected to like Scotch, but I just don't---go figure. I've had 2 rather expensive bottles of scotch in my liquor storage for 4 years now. My father-in-law's a big scotch drinker, and he's the only one that has touched them.

I wish I liked hard liquor. Beer's always been the only booze I enjoy.

I'll have whiskey if it's being bought for me, but if I'm gonna drink liquor its usually Stoli, other than that pass a pitcher of a dark beer.

I'm not sure Jameson is a shot drink - more of a sipping drink...

i find it's one of the easiest to do a shot of.
but also tasty for sipping.

It's the only shot I ask for. It's smooth and goes down well w/ just a little kick.

I'm a bourbon girl (Makers, Knob Creek). My husband loves single malts. He is partial to Oban (which is too peaty for my tastes). I can stomach the Macallan 12 year. He actually decided the other night that he's partial to most speyside whiskeys.

Hey Jewels, I remember one time trying some Laphoraig, and it was like an 8 year old. We passed it around the table for everyone to try, and my friend said: "it tastes like an ace bandage." I'll never get that one out of my head!

I'm picturing your friend as a connoisseur of bandage products. Not only does it taste like a bandage, it tastes like the ace brand of bandages.

Yup. I don't know if I can stomach switching from vodka to whiskey just yet. I love my vodka way too much.

However, I dig shots of Jameson. Gives you a nice kick to start off the night. And then some.
