Tell me about it. My dad used to harp on me about drinking bourbon, so last year I developed a love of Jameson just in time for my trip to Dublin. I visited the Jameson Distillery and got to sample quite a lot of very good whiskey. And yeah, the hangover is brutal.

I love that you are eyepacth drunk here, Charlie.

Me and Bloor basically took down a fifth of Johnny Red last night, after 3-4 beers, a liter and a half of wine, a Jaeger Bomb and a few beers at the bar.

Feelin ripe today.

I used to drink Bourbon ALL THE TIME. Gamedays especially. Beam and Cokes, then it became Old Forester and Ginger ale. (which, if any of you like Bourbon, it's the poor man's Maker's)
When I lived in NH, they had a new scotch on sale like every week, so I'd buy one...every week. AND a 1/2 Gallon of Dewar's. And sit in my place and talk on the phone till I could no longer balance the glass on my knee. Rinse repeat.

Scotch and Coke is good to, for a weird change.

I got the shakes so bad on the way to Hank Williams grave I could barely sit up. Not good.

Yeah I was feeling no pain that day. I tell ya, there are few finer things in life than drinking whiskey all afternoon in Dublin and stumbling around the rest of the day with the Irish.

I miss bourbon anc coke, that first sip is like nectar from the gods, pure pleasure overload. My folks are still in Texas and they're gonna bring me back a few bottles. You just can't get good shit here in SK. Whenever I hit the US, it's about all I drink. DAMN, i'm thirsty!

Sounds like you and Bloor did all right then, you best be getting some of that medicine in you. And play some Back in Black real loud today.

"Have A Drink on Me".

Im having a Sam Smiths Oatmill Stout and we are watching/listening to the Americana Channel on cable. We sent the women folk away shopping so the boys could talk loud about grown up stuff they dont understand.

What is the Irish Whisky I had last night? Smoother and with a sweeter finish than Jameson, and the label/bottle has a pair of birds (holding a scroll?) toward the bottom. My new favorite bartender Lisa bought me a shot of that last night, and showed me the tattoo of the birds which reside betwixt her alabaster shoulderblades.

I was feeling all right last night - holding off on the good stuff, I kept well-hydrated on PBR for several hours, then did a shot of Jager & a chaser, then a couple more PBR tallboys, then a shot of the mystery whisky and a chaser, then a Boodles and tonic (holy yumness), then a couple more PBRs. Woke up at 2PM today.

Will repeat tonight. Need to hang with the ATL boys SOON.

recovery food - eggs, grits, coffee, cigarettes.

Irish all the way. Used to be a (heavy) Jamesons drinker (straight, obviously), but a friend got me some knappogue castle ( http://www.castlebrandsinc.com/brands/kc.php ) for graduation and ruined me. Now, I hit up the Jamesons and think, 'I'm too good for this shit.' It's getting costly.

Friends bought me birthday Chivas's at the Animal Collective show this week. They warmed and lifted me above the two doobs I had smoked earlier.

Ok, Ive found a couple more 'go to's' as daily drams...

Dalmore 12 yr... great tasting scotch, and a good price for 12 yr.

and the Balvenie.. I had the 15 yr but the 10 yr is nice too at a more reasonable price

One of the few benefits of living here. Cheap ass alcohol.

I was actually talking about here on the edge of American civilaztion ready for destruction by the gulf of mexico. We have no bike paths, record stores, any venues, but we do have lakes coming out of the ass. And mind blowing cheap liquor.

Yeah, I saw some weird swamp animal with 666 branded on its forehead yesterday. Scared the shit out of me.
