Wilbon on PTI was ranting the other night about the Americans lack of respect for the games, and how many are saying that they could care less about medals, etc. From what I've seen he's on the mark. But then you have people like Cheek(s?) who sounds like a genuinely great guy trying to make things better for others with his fame. What makes me upset is in the opening ceremonies you see countries who could only send 1 athlete or who sent athletes but couldn't afford to feed them, so a local Italian town took up collections for them. You look at that, and then you hear someone like Weir or Bode, and you just want to slap them.

I talked to Bode for a few moments at a press conference when he was a lot younger. That was one hyped-up adrenaline junkie dude.

That's a good one...That shit don't cut it when your later for work, let alone when you suck in the olympics.
