ATTENTION: STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW TONIGHT'S SNOWBOARD CROSS EVENT TURNS OUT!

My uncle's best friend friend, Seth Wescott, won a gold medal today in the snowboard cross event. I've met this guy before at weddings and the like. Its not as if I really know him, but I still know him. I just think its really cool. Never thought I would actually be acquainted with a gold medal winner.

This combined with the fact that its 50 degrees here in Maine, in February, and that my calc professor decided not to show up today, have made it a very good day.

Carry on.

I know one too. Rulon Gardner wrestled for Nebraska and was a coach at one possibly two wrestling camps I went to during high school. Tim Neumann who was coach at Nebraska during his years is a friend of my high school coach, so occasionally we held collegiate duals at my high school to promote Nebraska Wrestling.

Finally I can read this thread because I watched him win. What a great race that was. Give him a quick crotch grab for me, next time you see him, ok?

Brunswick is nearly south of the arctic circle, unlike Caribou which is wicked infested with them polar bears and glacial flows.

Caribou is below the Mason-Dixon Line compared to where i'm from in Maine.
Either way, i now know someone who knows someone who has a gold medal.
Thanks Totally Wired

Caribou is at least 200 miles north of Brunswick. And I don't even need a map for that info, even.

And congrats.

Being from Madawaska, I am about 350 miles north of Brunswick. So we're in the same neck of the woods...Go Aroostook County!!!! I was pretty pumped when they mentioned ME on the winter olympics though.

Well, then, I guess I'll have to use slightly less exaggeration when I reference the Saint John Valley if you're posting here.

Or maybe more exaggeration.

Go ahead, i'm used to it, might even exaggerate it myself. Last time I went home, i couldnt get the snowmobile started so i had to gear up the dogs. That was a long ride into town.

Two people from Aroostook County on here now. Maybe we can start our own contingent like the Chicagoans.

Or not.

On second thought, maybe two Yankee Ron Whites are enough.

In the Valley it's Mini-Quebec, but south of Van Buren, maybe down past Millinocket, it's a land full of Yankee Boomhauers.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether the boomhauer or the quebec accent the more hick. I'd have to suppose that if one person were to posses both it would fulfil some prophecy, we should prolly keep that form happening...
