I finally got a real copy of Venomous Villain a few weeks ago and it rocks my cock. I've not yet heard the newer one, probably will sometime ever, just now now.

Yep. Nearly every song. Kira's pretty afraid of God but hates God-loving.

Nine Inch Nails, "Heresy" (...God is dead, and no-one cares...)
Yello, "Domingo" (...We are god 'cause only we can create the idea
Of his existence in our holy brains...
)
Jim White, "Jesus Drove A Motorhome" -- not really critical so much as just making fun of.
And I'll second that The The track -- good choice, from a great album by a superb artist.

Damit, I used to have more, I used to collect them, but can't think of any more, now.

I would normally suggest Psychedelic Furs "Imitation of Christ", but you probably don't listen to crap like that--so go with The Birthday Party "Big Jesus Trash Can".

Ooo, I like this idea for a mix.

The Roches - Everyone Is Good
:notes: Nobody's God says hate your neighbor
Even if the neighbor doesn't believe in God
Put aside your religion
Do your God a favor
And wouldn't it be something
To be loving and kind
Forgiving yourself for everything
Having once been blind

Monty Python - Every Sperm Is Sacred
Monty Python - All Things Dull and Ugly

XTC - Merely a Man
XTC - The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead

Richard & Linda Thompson - We Sing Hallelujah

Richard Thompson - Jerusalem on the Jukebox

Negativland - Christianity Is Stupid
(I still have an old Negativland "Christianity Is Stupid" t-shirt that I can't fit into anymore. Maybe I'll make it into a pillow.)

Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil

Fotheringay - Peace in the End

Sting - The Children's Crusade

Radiohead - There There
(I choose to interpret the lines Just because you feel it / Doesn't mean it's there as a religious reference, but then I'm a heathen.)

"Don't tell the devil"

"No sex until marriage"

"I am a sinner, I deserve to go to Hell"

Man, was that that a great song in college... always on the same mix tape in 88 with the Cure and New Order... chicks dug it. I feel old.

"Never Leave a Job Half-done", or "Simple Economics" - Pedro the Lion

(Not so much anti-God, as an assault on the falsely pious. Could work though.)

I'm sure there are tons of Bad Religion songs that would fit the bill, but here are a few that I thought of:

Destined for Nothing (off of Process of Belief album)
Epiphany (Process of Belief)
At the Mercy of Imbeciles (No Substance)
Faith in God (How Could Hell Be Any Worse?)
God's Love (The Empire Strikes First-- although this is more of a commentary on God and government, which abounds in BR's catalog)

Definitely the winner, particularly disc 2. Especially the bit about God being a boy fucker.

I think for a song, 'Tomorrow Wendy' by Concrete Blonde does a little bit of God bashing.

Whichever U2 song it is where Bono says, "The God I believe in isn't short of cash."

Go for Andy Prieboy's solo version (he wrote it) on his debut "Upon My Wicked Son".

That would be the live version of "Bullet the Blue Sky" from Rattle and Hum and its "the god I believe in isn't short of cash, mister"

"And i can't tell the difference between ABC News, Hill Steet Blues and a preacher, from The Old Tim Gospel Hour, stealing money, from the sick, and the old...." etc.
