Didn't Thin Mints used to be completely round? They now have this weird scalloped edge. Also, when did Samoas stop being Samoas?

samoas are, i think, still samoas in some places, where nobody complained that it was racist to name coconut cookies after people who live near coconuts. thin mints did used to be round - i saw round ones just this year.

Still called Samoas here.

Does Samoan cuisine feature alot of coconut? If so I don't find the naming racist.

My box says "Caramel Delights." Which is a totally stupid name, regardless of your opinion of naming them "Samoas." Thankfully, they still taste awesome.

also, 'coconuts' is a derog term for pacific islanders here

Really? I don't remember them having caramel in them. Maybe it's just been too long since I tasted a sweet Samo....Caramel Delight.

I have some peanut butter sandwich cookies at work.
I have to keep them here because of my son's peanut allergy.
But I'm cool with that.
I haven't even had a scoop of chocolate peanutbutter ice cream at Baskin Robbins' in 4 years.

Edy's makes a whole line of Girl Scout Cookie Ice Cream. Only one was half-decent though. I don't think I tried Samoas.

They should be in the entranceway of any supermarket this weekend. Round here they're everywhere; grocery stores, farmers market, book stores. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

A couple I work with brought in the order sheet for their 7-year-old daughter in December and I just took care of it then. Forgot about them until this weekend when I saw some GSs set up at a table at the mall. Today, the cookies appeared. And I am happy.

Danishes are called Danishes after Danish people, but it's not racist because it's referring to white people, not black people!

Except in some places in the Middle East, where they are now calling a Danish a "Rose of the Prophet Mohammed" in protest of those Danish cartoons.

I've tried the Edy's Samoas one. It was pretty good but, maybe it was my freezer, it was really melty.
