You forgot flat vs. apartment.

A sub is a specific kind of sandwich, on a sub roll. Called a sub roll, I think, because when uncut it looks like a submarine. Except made of bread.

While it's fine to say pop, there seem to be a lot of people who think pop is absolutely correct and that soda is old fashioned or something. How often have these people left the midwest, I wonder.

I don't care what people call it. To me, they are just two names to give "soft drink." I like to say "pop" because it's slightly easier to say but don't care if people say "soda." There are people who think "soda" is absolutely the correct way as well. For me, it doesn't make a difference.

Pop is obviously the correct way.

Soda is acceptable, but sounds kinda retarded.

But, ´Coke´ ??? For everything? You hillbillies gotta get it together down there. C´mon. When your buddy says, ´Hey, Bubba, get me a Coke,´ how the hell do you know what he wants?

We get our own.

Just like soda or pop is a generic term for you Yankees, coke is the generic term down here. Bubba.

Kinda like if I need to wipe my nose, I get a Kleenex. Not a tissue. Get it?

I'm gonna make sure you're referring to me before I comment. A simple yes or no will suffice.

Just as much a cultural difference as soda/pop. If you refer to those by either of those terms down here, you'll get a  . Is there inherent inferiority or backwardness in cultural difference?

Be sure to clean up the machine after that, poopy.

i don't understand what you're talking about. i was just trying to say that "xerox" is another example of a specific brand name being frequently used in place of the generic term.

My bad. My neuroticism took it as a jab.

I say "soda" but I think that it is one of my little ironic speech things inherited from being around too many Yankees in high school and college. I also say "Yo" and occasionally inflect like I'm from Philly as well. Annoys the fuck out of people. (LooGar, you can just jump right in here if you like :D )

A bubbler is something to puff weed out of.

I think its cool to drink out of the colored water fountain.

A sandwich is a sub.

Pop is a code word for "I am a dottering idiot"

"a coke."

Doesn't go over well up here, but I refuse to begin saying shit like "soda" and "ramp" instead of "parking deck." It's not a ramp. You aren't jumping over shit.

I think around my parts it was always 'pop', in fact I remember this company called 'The Pop Shoppe' where you could get all different flavours of flavoured sugar water. I also say 'serviette' rather than 'napkin' but that could be because I'm a retard.

Pop. Juvenile, perhaps? Perhaps....but we're talking about pop here.

Also:

Barley Pop = Beer

Tube Steak = Hot Dog
