A movie doesn't have to be exactly like the comic to be good. Look at X-Men. Iceman is a kid, Stryker's in the military, Toad has a giant tongue, Pyro was a student at Xavier's, etc, etc. Did this make the movie bad? No, just different.

With this carelessness toward the source material, I just dread what will come of the forthcoming comics movies.

By making the occasional major alteration, the studios will see that they can get away with it and keep with that, basically writing the characters from scratch.

The Avengers movie has the biggest opportunities for really fucking with things.
