Joy Riding here is basically stealing a car and then driving it around really fast.

This is a tragedy? An 18-year old man dying from a brain tumor. That's a tragedy. I have no sympathy for these idiots.

An important thing to realize is that lots of young people go "joy riding" and never get hurt. Sure what thoose kids did was stupid and irresponsible but it doesn't mean that they deserved to die or that it was their faults. It also doesn't mean that they are stupid people, all it means is that they made a bad decision. I know that when I was in high school that I did stuff that was just as stupid, and I know I'm not the only one here, and I never got injured or hurt and most people don't. I'm not saying that what they did was okay just that it is not as shocking or dumb as it is being made out to be.

yes it was their fault, what I meant is that it is stupid to act like their death was justified due to one bad choice.

Well, there's a difference between the bad choice being 'making a left into a tree' and 'joyriding'. Just because you go joyriding 12 times and don't get killed doesn't make it the right choice.

actually it looks like they ran the red light...

someone ran a red light, and an SUV ran into them and i heard it smashed them into another car.
they didn't charge the driver of the other car (they're fine) so i believe it was the kids fault.

I saw in the paper that thirteen years ago today this girl I went to elementary school up through high school died suddenly of the same heart problem as Reggie Lewis. 15 years old. These coincidences are making me get the willies.
