Uhh, Andrew Bird, Green Day, Ike Reilly, and pitifully many others.

I'm not too swift.

I was pleasantly surprised by it. I think its his best since "Black Sheets of Rain" then again I haven't liked much since "Black Sheets of Rain" and it didn't make my top 20. I noted though that it was #1 for Jack Rabid of the Big Takeover. Its in my car changer for another listen as a result.

I missed the boat on N'Dongo Lo. I had it ordered in December but it didn't arrive until January. It would have been top 20, borderline top 10.

I've recently decided that Joe Bataan "Call my Name" is not only #1, but is probably be the best album of the decade. A song will be on my obner mix. It was another December order but luckily it arrived in time to blow me away at the end of the year.

I downloaded this too recently on eMusic, and liked it, until I realized what it reminded me of:

heard a feist song the other day, sounds nice and chill

I love "Satisfaction" but have yet to hear the whole thing.

but the eiffel disc came out about 6 years ago. They used a lot of the same voice synthesizing distortion techniques that Bob used. They sound eerily similar. Check out that disc.

Well, I bought it way at the end of December after I made my Top-20 list, so it's the same idea.

So far, the Hold Steady Separation Sunday would've made my top 20. I'm sure there'll be more.

Sonic-ly? I have to disagree. It did convince me that he's still "got it" as a songwriter, but they're all demo-quality. Listen to, for example, the levels of the drums from one song to the next. I forget which two songs, but on one it sounds really good, and on the next they're practically inaudible.

the drummer's brendan canty from fugazi, and from what i've heard he sounds tight.

This album has been a work in progress for several years. Mould scrapped most of the original recordings and re-recorded with a band including Brendan Canty but I believe that there are some songs that he liked the original recordings from and kept as is. These wouldn't have featured Canty. He went into this a little bit in an interview in the Big Takeover. If I didn't throw out my copy I'll dig it out and post anything relevant.

I'm guessing though that Dusty is referring to one of the songs Brendan Canty didn't play on.

Yeah, Brendan Canty didn't play on all the songs.
