Meh, this and the new MacMini don't do much to get me revved up.

The rumored touchscreen iPod video, though... oh baby.

April 1, the company's 30-year anniv, is the next likeliest date for that one to be announced. Counting the days.

"how can we take the bose design and make it much, much worse?"

"well, we could make it way bigger, and stick the ipod on top."

Much as I like apple, I agree with this so far. That bose sumbitch sounds good a'hell! And it is NOT that big.

It's already up on the apple website, if you care to read more about it and/or check out the hype.

I'm a diehard mac guy, but I do not see how this caters to anyone whatsoever.

It looks like a 1950s tv when the screen was itsy bitsy but the rest of the cabinet was huge.

It's like a boombox that you can't put on your shoulder.

And rparis74's looks like a halo. A really ugly, high-tech, press-card holding halo.

All I want to see is news of an 80gb Ipod being released. Until then, I ignore Apple.

Here's an idea:

how about plugging the iPod (if you really want to use the iPod as a source, but that's another whole issue) into your preamp or receiver just like every other source component out there...

At this point, I don't own a stereo. I have never had a proper receiver/cd changer/record player/tape player seperate unit system.

I HAD a shelf system, but it's gone gar one me, and Bloor may have one to lend me. But for $350, it looks like a damn fine piece of equiptment. I may buy one next month when I get paid.
