Bobby Bare :: Bare Tracks: The Columbia Years

I'm feeling like enjoying shit that I loved listening to with Dad when I was real young.

Mama mama me oh my
I don't want no catfish eyes
I don't want no lizard spleens
Gimme greasy grit gravy and gizzard greens

Greasy grit gravy and gizzard greens
Big fat pie and mobo beans
Make you wanna split your jeans
Eatin' greasy grit gravy and gizzard greens

R.I.P. Shel Silverstein.

Something about Dads and Bobby Bare; I can't hear 'Detroit City' and not think of mine. Also Faron Young's 'Hello Walls' does the såme

For me its Willie Nelson, specifically "On the Road Again" and "You Were Always on My Mind" sort of a childhood theme for both.

Amen, brother. I think my Willie theme is "Shotgun Willie" cause it's fun to sing about sitting around in your underwear when you are 4, 5 or 28. Willie's Phases and Stages goes in after I toddle my ass to the car to fetch it. I also agree on the FPS thing. I hate them fuckers.

I have a feeling when I get CC figured out, yr. gonna have a lot of stuff I want...like the last two albums you've played, etc...

an aside: I listened to the first part of that Black Sheep on the plane, but I had to turn it off because I was laughing uncontrollably after the intro and U Mean I'm Not...this is gonna go into some serious rotation in Loog's World.

I snatched that Bobby Bare, along with a ton of other shit, off newsgroups in the past few weeks. Tagging all of it is a pain, but I do it in manageable chunks, then I'm pleasantly surprised at my haul.
