If you don't like what liars sound like now you should check out n0 things, which features the ex-drummer & bassist from liars.

I'm giving it a first listen right now (and the first concerted listen I've given to this band), and I like it. I think it'll grow on me, or perhaps seem more bland over time. It's understated, which I dig, but it's not necessarily that unique sounding. Kind of like a second rate and sad Animal Collective.

i love this record. def has taken a logical step fwd, but then again, i have loved all of their records, regardless. it's much nicer to see a band take chances, rather than have a solid debut and then 2 more boring dancepunk records out there cluttering up the world.
the drone-y aspects and the drumming on this record definitely make it for me, and i think the falsetto vocals totally capture a vibe similar to some of the tracks off 'they were wrong', but in a much cooler way.
also somehow reminded me of swans a lot. which for me is always a good thing.

i'm also fucking digging this record. i love how it sounds, and no one else is currently doing dark melodies and textures as well as this band.
