Ok, I set up an Obner March Madness Pool.

Go to:
http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.c ... ivategroup

(you may need to set up your own team here first:
http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men ) then join a private group.

ID# 2327
Password: haq

The winner will get a brand new cd (used if approved by the winner) of their choice from everyone else.

Rules:
All you have to do to play is enter your final selections by five minutes before the first game tips off on Thursday, March 16.

Everyone who plays has to send the winner a cd, so that means that person would be getting a crap ton of cd's in the mail? I really want to play, but I'm not sure if it is worth a new cd. Anyhoo isn't this illegal gambling?

tournament winners usually receive mixes. full-season fantasy league winners get real CDs. how about we amend this? one month of lucky picks is not equal to a whole season of being on the ball (and having some luck).

I'd say I was going to win, but after my successful finish in another music board College Bowl pickem contest, I'd say I was due for a shitty performance.
I usually due relatively crappy on one and awesome on the other, I can never be great at both.

I'm actually up for buying a cd now for the winner, and receiving a bunch of cd's too. I think it would be cool to receive some decent local band cd's from cities I am not familiar with or regional labels that I can't usually get my hands on for a decent price.
I will most likely buy a local cd for the winner, since I will know they probably won't have it.

Usually, the winner posts a list of CDs they desire. But I'd be up for this idea.

yeah, i won last year and i got a crap ton of cd's...but i'm still waiting on about 5 or 6....

i let the losers choose between mix or new (or used) cd. sometimes it's easier for the loser to just choose a cd then to spend time to make a mix.

I hope I paid up... if not, let me know.

Because I'm totally winning this year.

It doesn't look like there is anything I can do, except remove you from the group.

Edit: http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men
go there, log in, and click the edit up next to your current team name, and you can change it there.

I won the football contest and still a have some folks outstanding... But I think I came up with solution.

Any contest should be for new cds unless clearly marked for mixes or cdrs. As mentioned above, full seasons are always real cds, but I'm open to the NCAA tourney being mixes.

... regardless, paypal should be an easy way out too for those of us who want to settle up and not search out your weird shit :)

So if you play in a Obner league, send the cd. And realizing we're all lazy and not all close to stores who may stock things being requested, a simple paypal donation of $18 would work also.

How about it?

I'm a fan of winner's choice for mix-or-CD, and schadenfreude's Paypal alternative definitely has merit for CD prizes. Never been on the receiving end of a Paypal transaction, though. Would the winner needs to set him/herself up as a vendor?

Oh, and I'm in. We'll see how the formula works this year.
