Just stumbled across this site...kind of a fun read. Basically a lyrics site where people can respond with their interpretations of what the songs are trying to say.

This song kicks ass! The history behind this song is that Fred Durst was going out with a girl, and she broke up with him. Then she wanted him back and tried to make up with him by taking him some cookies. He threw them out the window because, of course, he did it all for the nookie baby! Gotta love it!

Ohhhhh.... I never even thought of that. That helps a lot.

Neither site helped me figure out what the hell "Levon" is about.

I always just thought it was a fictional song about a colorful redneck who'd been wounded in Vietnam, inspired by Levon Helm, but not factually about him.

It's about building a song around the single most awkward lyric in music history (that would be "Alvin Tostig has a son today").

Even more awkward than "No one answered, not even the chair?"

Yeah, but "McArthur Park" is half a goof anyway (I refuse to believe Jimmy Webb meant it seriously).

I always thought it woudl be cool to have a site that posted the lyrics of songs and annotated them, not for "meaning" or interpretation, but details about actual lyrical content. It wouldn't really be a factor for a lot of songs, but many songs do have references that not everyone is going to get. Television Personalities songs would be good because they fill them with so many names of people and places (for example, "Posing at the Roundhouse").

Half Man Half Biscuit songs would have enough annotations to fill the whole site.
