Good luck. It's frustrating but much more rewarding than being single.

did you guys decide to go with bubbles, rice, confetti or rat turds for your retreat from the reception? this is important.

hahaha...

congratulations! every wedding i've been to (including my own) has had one minor thing go wrong (mine was that my dj played "why don't we get drunk and screw" and "cocaine" after being told explicitly NO BUFFETT! NO CLASSIC ROCK!). keep that in mind and you and your wife (!) will have a great time.

there is a strict no Buffett/Bob Marley/Dave Matthews rule, so as long as that is followed, all is well.

Katie - fresh rat turds, of course.

seriously, write that down. we thought we had it covered... gave the guy cds to play during the mingling time and dinner. all he had to do was spin during the dancing (like, three hours! simple!). as soon as i heard buffett, i started tearing up a little and three groomsmen had to hold me back from murdering the dj.

Pretty much huge, yeah.

Mine wil be like 100..and that is HARD for me, but you gotta work with what ya got. You should cut like 150 people and use that money for a house downpayment, or a car, or a $10000 Treasury Bond.

Getting all the new stuff is the best part. Well besides the actual ceremony and reception.

You'll do fine Ryan, just have a drink before the ceremony. But not TOO many.

Nah, that's a given to be first place down the line.

But in the scheme of Pre-Ceremony, the stuff getting is pretty awesome.

This happened to me when I was off in a corner chatting with relatives, and the damned DJ put on "Cotton Eyed Joe." I was livid, but all the rednecks were dancing, so I let 'em have their fun.

Seriously, congrats! I'm telling you, all that stuff about the wedding night being amazing? I'm sure it will be, but let me tell you-- you both will be dog tired, so don't get bent if one of you doesn't "perform" to expectations-- you've got a whole week in Costa Rica for that! You spend most of the reception working the room, and you'll most likely forget to eat.

That's a good size. Mine was about 300. I'll tell ya, my bride and I didn't have the best time but everyone else did. It was like the receiving line was neverending: "Hi. Thanks for coming. Hi. Thanks for coming. Hi. Thanks for coming..." My feet were numb.

But we got a lotta loot.

yeah we're not doing a receiving line. That would take forever.

we've already gotten a bunch of stuff from her bridal showers, so I don't know what else the rest of the people can get. outside of money, of course, which I'll all up for.

We actually had a "presentation only" wedding, so it was cash-ola city. My only regret is that we didn't have a long receiving line where we could sit there a la Goodfellas and have everyone stuff envelopes into my pocket.

Glad to hear you're not doing the traditional line. It did take forever, what was worse is the bar was right behind us, so after everyone finished saying hello, they went straight to the bar and started whooping it up right behind us.
