Normally I prefer strategy games like Sim City but the Christmas period has left me feeling rather tense. Can anyone recommend an extremely violent PC game please?

I have two days before I go back to work and I'd really like to spend them disembowelling with rusty hooks, blasting heads off with shotguns and applying chainsaws to arms and legs. Some sort of heavy-calibre rapid-fire machine gun might also come in handy.

Any suggestions? Remember it's for PC and the more gore the better.

I started playing Enemy Territory a few days ago. It's the first first person shooter I've played in a long time. It's not that gory, but there is tons of shooting and stuff that 'splodes.

And it's free.

But only multiplayer.

I would suggest Doom 3 based on the previous games, but I haven't actually played it.

I have played about 9 levels on Doom 3, if you want violent, look no further. Shooting zombies at point blank with a shot gun, attacking monters with a chainsaw, blood every-freakin-where. And it's frightening to boot.

Manhunt?

Now I'm pretty sure that was the game that got banned here because it was linked to a murder (some teenager bashed his pals brains in with a hammer and then stabbed him about a 100 times).

maybe it's better on PC but that game sucked on PS2. the fucking load times for it were so bad that i quit the game in the middle of it and just returned it.

There was a PC game a few years back called Postal. Probably couldn't find it anymore and that's just as well because it was the sickest shit I ever saw.

None of that "faggy" killing zombies or monsters shit. You're out there killing kids, pregnant mothers and other regular folk as they beg for mercy, attempt to crawl away wounded etc.

Fallout & Fallout 2. Games are a bit older, so they're cheap. Graphics aren't great, and it's relatively slow (turn-based combat). However, these are really intelligent game that lets you shoot people in two with a machine gun.

This is not, of course, symptomatic of being a obssesive, geeky, gumby metaller. You and your 20-sided personality!

Redneck Rampage is a hoot for an older game, and it's got two dynamite Beat Farmers songs on the soundtrack.

I just read this 10 seconds ago...

Two of Rockstar Games' upcoming titles have been delayed, according to Take-Two Interactive's latest financial report. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, the latest street racing title from Rockstar San Diego, has been moved into the second quarter of its fiscal year, while its elusive adaptation of the cult film favorite The Warriors has been pushed into the third quarter.
Take-Two's unconventional fiscal calendar means Midnight Club 3 (coming to PlayStation 2 and Xbox) will currently arrive between February and April, while The Warriors (exclusive to PlayStation 2 at this point) will follow some time between May and July.

The delay for Midnight Club 3 was attributed to the need for additional development time. However, no explanation was offered for the added time on the development schedule for The Warriors (which has slipped back on Take-Two's schedule a few times before this).

ROCKSTAR IS GOING TO MAKE A GAME BASED ON THE WARRIORS?!?!?!?!?! WOW.
