That's fine - I'll be tippin' my 4th pint at Irish Times before you 2 even get in the door at The Short Stop...or get a decent table at The Red Lion...

But congrats on the move(s), nonetheless... I almost moved farther east, but was unwilling to break past the WeHo barrier and go full-on HWood/EPark...

Tonight: Drive an hour to hang out with some cavers in preparation for a trip tomorrow. Drink myself blind, then rehydrate myself until I can see again. Crash.

Saturday: Wake up early and drive to a large ranch that has just been sold to developers. Rappel into some sweet caves to see if we can find new populations of cave animals that are going to be right fucked when their caves are paved over in the next couple of years. If we get super lucky, we'll find something new that we can petition as endangered, but it'll never be listed in time in the current political climate. This is the "Hey, glad to meetcha, see you in hell!" side of biodiversity research. Drive back to the A-TX in time for band practice at 7PM. After that, hang out with my good friend Amanda, who I will cook quesadillas for, get a haircut from, and then she will critique my recent dates & conquests and make me feel like I should be doing far better than I am thusfar.

Sunday: Maybe Texas Rollerderby? Maybe sex (though probably not with a Rollergirl)?

Also, here is my updated weekend update:

Friday: staying in with a bottle of wine and not "going crazy" in NY.
Tomorrow: not staying in and "going crazy" in NY. Also, that show at Sin-e.
Sunday: I predict a hangover.

My favorite Rollergirl: Derringer. Her secret identity is one of a respected biologist, btw.

i'm not quite on the eastside just yet- in flux at the moment, but it's happening soon, very soon.

p.s. the short stop is old news. and screw the red lion. it's all about cha cha now. ;)

Agreed. Though my 'not' should be 'now'. Damn typos...

tonight was so great.
i went out with one of my old friends from cfa, one i used to hang out with all the time and stopped for no good reason.
then i went out with blue milk. i took him to a surprise spot.. the overlook of the city in church hill. it was gorgeous.
after that we went to first fridays. i havent been in a while. its where all of the galleries off of broad and 2nd street open up and theres a lot of people and experimental music on the street and fire breathers and shit.
i went to 1708, the big gallery along the strip, to support my art teacher and my previous art teacher. they were showing there, but my previous art teacher shows there all the time so it's not that big of a deal for her.
also, i was very pleased because i recognized a ton of the artists work there. pam anderson, diego sanchez, travis fullerton, my teachers. i felt "in the know" and it was nice.

i finished off the night with 12 hush puppies from long john silvers for 99 cents, a pina colada, and the weather man.

my mom is still not speaking to me but this weekend is going great already. tomorrow night i'm hanging out with 3-5 of my friends that are girls. this is really exciting to me.

edit:
and before all of this happened, in CFA a great local artist came in to speak with our class. his name was fraser martin and he was hilarious, and extremely talented.
a piece of his work:
