Rep. Bill Napoli lists possible exceptions to the abortion ban that does not allow the procedure in cases of rape or incest:

I know this is a pretty beaten topic, and that Roe isn't about to be overturned, but are you fucking kidding me? So a father raping his daughter isn't going to allow for an abortion unless he sodomizes her too?

shits going to get overturned. the last time the supremes had to consider a state law that challenged roe was in planned parenthood v. casey, which came out 6-3 in favor of roe. only one person in that majority has been replaced (o'connor). even if alito turns out to be everything the left is afraid of, it's a good bet that kennedy would not vote to seriously restrict abortion rights, still leaving a solid 5-4.

This really doesn't surprise me, South Dakota is ultra conservative. Sioux Falls would barely swing the vote in favor of Daschle and Johnson while I was a student at USD. The two most liberal counties besides the counties filled with an indian reservation are in the southeast by the University and only contain about 25,000 people combined.
Rounds never seemed like as big as a douche as Janklow, but now that seems to have changed.
Nebraska has always seemed more conservative than South Dakota as a whole, but South Dakota seemed to be more religiously conservative, whereas no politician in Nebraska would ever go as far as this. The worst thing we have had is an abortion bill that was recently struck down by the high court and the awful homophobic Defense of Marriage Act.
