<comes out of lurking>

I have a room at Indian Palms with some extra room - it has 2 queen beds and it's just me going.

If anyone wants to share, it's $100/night to do so (the room was $199).

Lemme know at tom.thornton at gmail dot com

I am looking forward to meeting lots of you guys, and seeing people I already know, too.

Daft Punk and Massive Attack will be awesome.

- T

I also have available a living room fold-out bed in the condo I'm staying at in Palm Desert. Up to two people can stay, we have it from Friday through Monday (check-out Monday morning), $400 total for two. It's at Club Intrawest and is pretty posh, with a pool, jacuzzi, kitchen, etc etc.

pm me if you are interested

heh, me and my friend are meeting up with two of our gay boyfriends. Of course, they're dying to see Madonna (and I'll be interested in seeing her too). So I'll prolly be camped out in the Madonna tent all day, and hope that we can rotate squatting schedules so I can get out and see some other bands if'n I wanna. Def. wanna see Massive Attack. But yes, definitely count us in for some partying with the obner crew at DA PALMS.

Newbie question:

Can you bring drinks/food into the venue? I don't want to be stuck paying $8 a pop for bottled water if I don't have to. Also, do they allow back packs in? Not like I'm interested in hauling a backpack full of stuff around, but wouldn't mind having a small bag for camera, munchies, etc.

bitterbuffalo and I were planning on going but my daughter is having surgery the week before, and I won't be making it--if bb decides he's not going, you're welcome to our room reservation at the Indian Palms---I'll let you know when plans are finalized.

I told tthorn we'd room with him, but I might have two others (obner-unaffiliated folks) that might be interested. Keep me posted.

I have two friends coming over from Scotland who need a place to stay. My hotel room is booked, but if any of you are willing to offer, I'll be happy to pass on the info. He (Mark) stayed with Dave (Death to Shoegaze) and my pals the first time he came over -- he can vouch for him if my word isn't good enough. :)

no
no
no

water is $2. i remember one year they allowed SEALED bottled water in, but i don't know if they will do it that again.

food is pricey, lines do get long... so i try to avoid the busy times.

backpacks- no. i usually bring a tote bag or something to that extent but they usually don't allow backpacks in.

i'd double check the faq on the coachella site. they change their rules every year, but generally from all the years i've been going, that's how it's been.

I dunno if y'all are interested... I think I still have puma and Aural's phone numbers programmed, but do you want to share cell numbers later, just to facilitate meeting up?

Bitterbuffalo and his herd have bagged as well, so I'm going to cancel our room res at the Indian Palms very soon. Let me know if any of you want it ASAP---it's a 2-queen for three nights at $199 per.

So, Coachella's in two weeks.

Dana and I were wondering... are we having an Obner get together on either Friday or Saturday @ Indian Palms? Is this feasible? I've never been, so you experts, you know what to do.

I'll buy beer and ingredients for whisky sours.

friday works best. my friends say they won't be partying on friday night, but they are lying.

one of my friends owes me 2 bottles of jameson- one for each night, so it's ON.

Friday will work best for myself and the crew I'm coming with. We'll at least be fairly sober, and not destroyed from Coachella yet :)

We plan on bringing the workings for a full bar, so we should have plenty for the Obner lot as well.

Is there a place to grill out at The Palms, or does everyone want to catch dinner somewhere locally? Any decent spots?

My friend Rachel who's coming with me is supposed to surprise one of her friends (he doesn't know we're coming). I don't know if she's planning on doing that on Friday or Saturday, but I'll plan on partying with you guys regardless.

I'm bringing a camera!!!
