i've mentioned on here before how i am very close to one of my best friend's sons. they live upstairs from me. i spend A LOT of time with them. and i'm like a second mother to them.

today i received a letter in the mail at work from drew. (the 10 year old.... 4th grader....)

it was to invite me to a poetry recital at his school for 'choose a hero' month in april.
and he chose ME as his hero.

awwwwwwww. i'm all teary-eyed. :D :D :D :D

(what's even cuter....is that he was talking to me about who he was going to choose for this....and last i heard....he was going to pick lebron james. so, i think this means i'm cooler than lebron! rawk! :D  )

Maybe I should go up to girls and just say 'You're my hero' instead of my current opening 'Hi, I'd buy you a drink but I'm an Islamic fundamentalist'.

I do. I keep thinking of shaving it but I remember the last time I shaved it off I was quite disappointed I wasn't amazingly handsome underneath.

Plus it's almost a masculinity issue. Will I be less of a man? It's like losing a testicle!

Beard for men = on face
Beard for women = somewhere else

Depending on where you're talking about, loss of a testacle is a risk when shaving...

Could definately be a crush. 10 is about when that starts, not that they think much beyond just "she's purdy."
