Here's the ultimate geek thing to do -- searching your name on the internet. One of the first sites that popped up with my name is the following -- http://www.ratm.iq.pl/ (definitely NOT SAFE FOR WORK OR CHILDREN). I was shocked to see my name in full view in the use of a porn story. Now, I'm wondering if it's someone I know...which is scary to think.

I also learned my name is a lot more popular than I thought. For instance, I'm a famous singer from the Dominican Republic.

yes, i have googled my real name a few times and only come up with search results of genealogy websites. i use a different name when broadcasting, but it's the same as a literary character. so references to myself aren't at the top of the results.

what i'm wondering most about that site is who writes sex stories with full names. doesn't a first name suffice enough? oh well, a funny story.

Yeah!! Cuz I think my name is the only full name used which makes it that much more weird.

I was googling old junior high classmates a few days ago. I found out that one of the bullies works at TGI Fridays and is in a terrible screamo band.

I found my ex-fiancee's name on a brain tumor support site once.

Don't know where she lives now, so don't know her health status. But that was unsettling.

I haven't done this in a while, usually I'll get my own site, but now I'm also responsible for the literary gems "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Hallelujah Fatkid".

Also, oddly enough, is a page with no information other than the note that it was edited on November 17th, 2004--one day after my birthday.

I own Absolutely Kosher.

I also hit the site announcing some advertising awards I've won--these are real, and I have plaques to prove it, unlike my other "achievements".

And even better is this one: I've written about The Aural Dimension.

There are a surprising number of Andrew Beattys in the world, and I do not top the google list of them. There is:

Dr. Andrew Beatty. Senior Lecturer in Anthropology

Andrew Beatty advises clients in the fields of environmental and planning law. He specialises in representing clients in environmental and related litigation. Andrew is admitted in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and in the High Court.

Andrew Beatty Status: Postgraduate Student (M.Sc. by research)

In 1909 George Balfour and Andrew Beatty formed a company to serve the electricity supply industry which was then in its infancy.

EU prepares for Bosnia mission
by: Andrew Beatty - EUobserver - 01 December 2004

In this most comprehensive study of Javanese religion since Clifford Geertz's classic study, Andrew Beatty considers Javanese solutions to problems of cultural difference, and how villagers make sense of their complex, multi-layered culture.

Andrew Beatty, Vice President, Canadian Banking Division, Fidelity Information Services

John Marshall High School AP Scholars Andrew Beatty

Andrew Beatty
Winner of the prize for Farthest Away, Andrew lives in Dublin, Ireland, where he works as a software engineer. He visits his boat at least annually to ensure creative water displays and "all weather" trips.

Basically, it looks like all th other Andrew Beatty's of the world are doing all right - lawyers, authors, reporters, athletes, Vice Presidents! A pretty good collection to live up to.

As you could probably guess, I am the only " Todd Leiter-Weintraub" listed on Google. I have 163 listings, and all are related to one of four things:
1. My music/band(s)
2. My work in the ad business (awards, etc.)
3. My marriage records
4. My postings at CMJ BBS

I had googled my name before, and the top results were for a major league baseball player. This wasn't a surprise, as some kid gave me this player's card when I was in the 4th grade or so. I don't think the guy was a very good player.

When I search my first and last name, nothing.

When I use my middle initial as well, I get tons including pages at:

-The Hidden Song Archive
-Audioscrobbler
-Belle And Sebatian's official website Q&A
-Spiderfan.org
-Amazon.com: A list by...
-And an old website I ran for some friends' band

Rather sad that after all her schooling, once she married, she became a housefrau. Maybe she wore the pants in her family.

If I put my full name with maiden I get tons of stuff on my family members, nothing on me.

Married, nothing.

Formerly married, and I dig deep, the only thing that comes up is some really weird post I made to a message board when I was a housewife years ago and a very big New Radicals fan.

If I put my CMJ name in-posts and a review I made on some review site I can't remember the name of but that we all were on a couple years back, that I made of a Joseph Arthur cd.

I suck.
