He fills me with rage. Anger. Seething rage. So terrible. So, so terrible.

Because the song is pretty awful to begin with. Straight up terrible actually. And then th e local 'alt' station can't go an hour without playing it. The beat, the music.. just so annoying.

I'd take Fall Out Boy for 24 hours before I'd listen to another second of Matisyahu.

And I still didn't answer your question... hm..

Maybe it's a primal, visceral thing. Certain sounds or types of music just make me want to kill. He falls in that camp.

The sound of a loud Harley going up the road, Red Hot Chili Peppers, babies crying, heavy bass from a car, W's voice, when the spoon hits your teeth... all these sounds just kill me.

i don't mind it, doesn't arouse much passion in me either way. it might get some more kids into good reggae, and that certainly isn't a bad thing.

i'm curious to know if the people who hate him or think he sounds like Snow listen to reggae. (due to this thread) i'm giving him my first real listen and had i not known about him i would never think twice about this fitting in with other Reggae.

The religious themes of judiasm sound the same as religious themes of rasta.

I am familiar with Reggae but by no means do I consider myself an expert or even a big fan of it.

I'm starting to lose faith in this board.

Shouldn't we have standards? Shouldn't we put up an example for all the aspiring indie snobs? Isn't it our responsibility to boo-hoo and naysay all of the trash? What happened to you, Obner? What happened to you?

Hey. At least he and his band made it to their appearance on Conan. Nelly did not.

But, I kind of agree with your other posts in general. There is something that bugs me about it. It's not the Jedaism aspect. I just think that if he were some Jamaican guy, he wouldn't be anything special because honestly, after a while his songs start to sound like he could play one huge medley live because there isn't much separating them. Not only the music, but the vocals get quite boring after a while.

i didnt mind his live at stubb's album......

watched the conan performance and was turned off. i have feeling if you have one of his albums you have all of them. granted i know reggae music can be repetitive, but this song sounded like some song off stubb's but with different lyrics...

i will pass on this dude.
